Install the web app

On iPhone or iPad, open the site in Safari, use the Share menu, and choose Add to Home Screen. On macOS Safari, choose File → Add to Dock. Chrome and Edge show an install icon in the address bar when installation is available.

Enable the Safari extension

On iPhone or iPad, open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions and enable Direct Player. On Mac, open Safari → Settings → Extensions. Then use the extension button while viewing a Dailymotion page.

Use the Chrome, Edge, or Firefox extension

Pin Direct Player to the browser toolbar. Open a Dailymotion video page and click it; the current URL is detected automatically. You can also paste any supported Dailymotion URL or video ID.

The bookmark does nothing

Make sure its address begins with javascript:. Some browsers remove that prefix when bookmark code is pasted, so add it back manually if necessary.

The video ID cannot be found

Open the ordinary Dailymotion video page first, then invoke Direct Player. Standard, embed, player, and dai.ly links are supported.

Important limitation

The direct player is still provided by Dailymotion. Playback availability, advertisements, geographic restrictions, login requirements, and video removals remain controlled by Dailymotion.

This is an unofficial utility and is not affiliated with Dailymotion. Review the privacy statement.
